Zorro Coloring Pages
Zorro is the masked hero who protects ordinary people with a sword, a fast horse and a very clever disguise.
Zorro, the Masked Hero
Zorro first showed up in a magazine story in 1919, and it was later published as a book called The Mark of Zorro. The story is set in California back when Spain ruled it. Don Diego Vega is a rich young man who acts lazy and bored by swords, but at night he puts on a mask and cape to protect people from a greedy governor and his soldiers. He signs his rescues by slashing a Z with his blade.
Zorro the Fox
Zorro is the Spanish word for fox, and it suits him. He's clever enough to stay one step ahead of every soldier sent to catch him, and nobody guesses that the sleepy Don Diego is the masked hero!
Lolita and the Fiestas
Lolita Pulido is the young noblewoman who wins Zorro's heart. At the town's fiestas she finds sleepy Don Diego pretty dull, and she can't stop thinking about the masked hero. She doesn't find out they're the same man until the very end!
Spanish settlers brought their music and dancing with them to California. Flamenco comes from southern Spain and is all about clapping, stomping and castanets.
