Welcome to my French Bulldog coloring pages section.
Frenchies started out in England as pocket-sized bulldogs. When English lace makers moved to France in the 1800s they brought their little dogs along, and the Parisians loved them so much that the name stuck.
Those big upright ears are called bat ears, and they're the breed's trademark. They turn toward every sound, which suits a dog that likes to know exactly what's going on.
A Frenchie is small and sturdy and rarely weighs more than 13 kilograms (28 pounds). The squashed nose gives them a snorty, snuffly sound, and they're famous snorers. That short nose also means they overheat easily, so a French Bulldog would much rather lie on a cool floor than go for a long hot walk.
The coat is short and smooth. It comes in fawn (golden tan), brindle (dark and tan stripes mixed together), cream, or pied (white with patches of color). Frenchies are clowns who love being with their people, which is why they're such popular dogs for apartments and small homes.
