King Ghidorah Coloring Pages
King Ghidorah is a golden, three-headed dragon from outer space and one of Godzilla's greatest enemies. He first appeared in the 1964 Toho film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, where he arrives on Earth after wiping out all life on Venus. He's so dangerous that Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra have to team up for the first time to stop him.
His design may owe something to Japanese mythology. Yamata-no-Orochi, the eight-headed serpent defeated by the storm god Susanoo, is often pointed to as an inspiration, and you can read that story on our Japanese mythology page.
In the Hollywood Monsterverse, Ghidorah is the villain of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). The film-makers gave each head its own personality: the middle one is the leader, while the other two squabble and bicker like siblings.
